A. Phileas Fogg, the main (fictional) character in the 1873 Jules Verne novel "Around the World in Eighty Days". Accompanied by his manservant Passepartout he attempts to circumnavigate the late Victorian world in 80 days, or less, on a wager of 20,000 set by the Reform Club. He takes the wager and on that day leaves with Passepartout, vowing to return by 8.45 pm on Saturday 21 December 1872.

Can Miss Teen Contest organizers get adaptation of "Around the World in 80 Days" by Mark Brown?
Q. That would take the boredom out of geography study. Or look at the adaptation by Julianne Homokay-Ron Barnett. Board Game version of the same book/movie (Jackie Chan not the only one out there) is great and add high-speed trains and the Hawaii Superferry so that the island nations in the Pacific can be included! What do you think about this way to overcome the boredom of geography? did an online search and Michael Rieneck designed that board game - contact him and get him to add the Hawaii Superferry of the one made by Derecktor Shipyards in CT...Bering Strait Tunnel has been suggested by several people - game board version is easy enough to do.

A. One of the board games is from Kosmos, and maybe Toys-R-Us can get it. But I got a good idea (2nd one below) right here on YA for updating that game: Following in Jules Verne's footsteps, players (in one board game adaptation) wager on their ability to travel around the world in 80 days. Whoever makes it back to London with the greatest number of days left in his time bank is the winner. Two suggestions for an update: 1. Use of high-speed trains and high-speed ferries could make it Around the World in 8 Days, or just 18 days with still time to stop and talk to the locals. 2. The tunnel under the English Channel would be easily replicated by adding a dual train route to the travel options from England. Keep in mind that this will allow… [cont.]

Is is not recomended to use HCG for weightloss more then 80 days?

A. Uh, it's not recommended to use HCG for weight loss period. No major medical group, credible journal and actually quite a few have issued warnings against it. There's flat out zero evidence that injections of HCG does anything for weight loss at all.

Alcohol in a UA, I have been told 80 days. Also heard 80 hours, which is it?
Q. The counselor for the alcohol class I went to said 80 days, which I really don't believe. I have read 80 hours. Does anyone for sure?

A. Using a Urine Analysis (UA), alcohol can be detected up to about 10 hours, but it may be longer depending on the types and amounts of impurities absorbed by your body, your rate of metabolism and your general health. The UA test looks for very small concentrations of contaminates, called metabolites, which can be used to determine which specific products have been used. The body naturally stores metabolites in the fatty cells and fast growing cells in your body. These metabolites leach out into the blood over time and are expelled mostly through the urinary tract. Metabolites stay in the fat for different periods of time causing you to fail a drug test many weeks or months in the future. Your fat content, activity level and your metabolism… [cont.]

A. just keep trying different brands and types of bottles,it will be costly but it may help and just keep persevering as she will take it if she is extremely hungry she will not starve. it could also be the formula my friends daughter was the same and she changed to a different brand and has never looked back, try offering breast milk in the bottle to see if it is the bottle or not also but first of all keep offering her the breast it may take a while and express in between feeds to build up milk supply. good luck

Q. I'm trying to get a copy of 'Around The World' in 80 days but there appears tobe a couple of versions written differently. Does anyone have the original one? A. Unless you're planning on reading it in the original French, then any unabridged copy is as close as you're going to get. There have been several translations over the years, so the difference in the opening lines is just a difference in the translation. That being said, if you're wanting to get a translation that is as faithful to the original as possible then you must read the Oxford's World Classics edition. It is the most recent translation available and was translated by the pre-eminent Vernian scholar, William Butcher. It's leaps and bounds better than any other translation available as most previous translations of Verne are quite poor indeed. Is 80 days enough to remove all THC from my urine?
Q. is 80 days long enough to have no thc metabolites left in my urine/system whatever. Im talking less than 15 ng/mL. went on a 2 week craze smoking, once a day prior to 80 days. i am only 150 pounds and 5'6
Asked by johnnie - Wed Feb 20 17:21:48 2008 - - 22 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The half-life of THC concentration ranges between 1 to 10 days. There is too much human variation to even approximate how long THC will be detected in the urine of an individual. Infrequent users with a fast metabolism will have the shortest detection time. Frequent users with a slow metabolism will have long detection times. The only way to estimate a detection time is to consider the lower and upper bounds (3-30 days), and decide based on the factors. In my opinion 80 days enough for THC to be fully metabolise and cleared fro your system. Just a friendly reminder, THC is not good for you and you need seek help to stop using it.
