please can i have some help explaining a quote in chapter 14 of the hound of the baskervilles?
Q. the quote is : " the moon shone on it, and it looked like a great shimmering icefield, with the heads of the distant tors as rocks borne upon it's surface..." please can you explain about this quote and how it makes the moor seem fearful and the effect that it has on the audience explain in as much detail as you can please reply soon

A. It seems barren, lonely and deserted. The rocks make it seem like a dangerous and unforgiving landscape. The personification of the tors make it seem like a very wild, natural place that has not been tamed by humans. The premodifiers "great" and "shimmering" show the reader the natural power and beauty of the place.
