Child health nursing is an area of nursing and medical practice with a focus on providing holistic care to infants, children and adolescents. It differs from pediatrics, in that the emphasis in pediatrics is ill-health and the alleviation of symptoms or disease.

One of the major principles of pediatric nursing is the concept of family centered care. Pediatric nurses function to support the family by providing nursing care that the family cannot perform, educating and supporting them to maintain their normal caring activities and actively viewing the parents as partners in the care process..

Another word for child health nursing is pediatric nursing.

Hawaii ending universal child health care. Is the government becoming more and more selfish?
Q. here is the story
Asked by clue2 - Sat Oct 18 15:31:12 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I fail to see how you could attach the word "selfish" to the situation. It's simply a matter of whether it can be paid for. You see, barring a return of the institution of slavery, you can't have universal health care without paying for it. Those who argue that health care is a right, which it distinctly cannot be, forget that health care must be provided by somebody, and the health care provider must be paid.

I was abandoned by my husband, Can I get child health plus or medicaid insurance for my newborn?
Q. are they going to deny me health insurance for the baby because I am legally married, even though I dont know where he is?
Asked by Mona B - Fri Feb 9 13:38:05 2007 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you go to your local Income Support Division (often called the Fodd Stamp office) you should be able to get Mediciade. They would still look at your income and/or ability to get insurance for your child. If you arent able to afford then your baby should qualify. The aplication can be rather lengthy and there will be an interview where you are able to explain your situation. As another poster mentioned you may also qualify for cash assistance if he isnt paying child support. (TANF) Either way they will most likely have a stipulation that you cooperate with your states Child Support Division, which is governed by the states Attorney Genrals office, which is a good thing. They will try to track down your hubby and start making him pay… [cont.]

Can the health visitor of a child in care disclose medical info on the mum to a 3rd person without authority?
Q. My daughters son had an accident and everyone has jumped on the abuse band wagon blaming the dad. The children's health visitor has written a report on my daughter and disclosed medication she has taken and details of medical conditions to social services. Can she disclose an adults info to a 3rd party without authority without the order of the court?
Asked by yamgran - Fri Nov 24 17:10:06 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Absolutely not. Any medical documentation that has to do with your daughter, or anyone else, without specific permission from the party involved (being your daughter) - under no circumstance, can be reviewed by anyone other than her doctor. Medical records are strictly confidential. Any unauthorized viewing breaks that confidentiality. And since your daughter isn't the one involved in the accident, the care provider has no grounds to release any information to any party without consent. Especially since the care provider is a childcare provider. The only other exception that could be considered is that unless a court of law has ordered such information disclosure under the circumstance that there is undeniable evidence that your… [cont.]
