UsesApart from being a part of the Latin alphabet, the letter is a Roman numeral representing 10. It is commonly used in correspondence along with the letter O (as in "XOXO"-the Xs representing kisses and the Os hugs). Traditionally, X was used to "mark the spot" on treasure maps to indicate where treasure was buried. X is used by the illiterate in lieu of a signature and indicates a signature line on forms. You'll have to cut the sleepers in wedge shapes to make the floor level. The ones around the edge should be the same thickness. Use a chalk line attached to the perimeter sleepers going the same direction as the joists (the string, that is). Lay the joist on the floor to the center of slope and chalk a line. When you cut it and flip it over, (cut edge on floor) it should run true with the string. You could still add concrete, though. The garage still has a door to walk through and windows, doesn't it?
