A child (plural: children) is a human being between the stages of birth and puberty. The legal definition of "child" generally refers to a minor, otherwise known as a person younger than the age of majority. "Child" may also describe a relationship with a parent or authority figure, or signify group membership in a clan, tribe, or religion; it can also signify being strongly affected by a specific time, place, or circumstance, as in "a child of nature" or "a child of the Sixties." DefinitionsThe United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as "every human being below the age of 16 years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier." Biologically, a child is anyone in the developmental stage of childhood, between infancy and adulthood. Attitudes toward childrenSocial attitudes toward children differ around the world in various cultures. These attitudes have changed over time and in different historical periods. A 1988 study on European attitudes toward the centrality of children found Italy was more child-centric and the Netherlands less child-centric, with other countries (Austria, Great Britain, Ireland, and West Germany) falling in between. Q. Specifically, if you have more than 3 children, how do you think a large family helps the parents AND children? Did you have lots of children for spiritual reasons? Did you adopt? Do you notice more maturity, selflessness, caring and obedience in your children than other families with only one or two children? Asked by Aubrey C - Sat Oct 13 21:12:09 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. I'm 35yrs with 4 children (all my own). I have three boys, ages 9, 7 and 3 and a baby girl who was born in Aug 2007. My husband and I planned on having 2, MAYBE 3 kids at the most, but deep down I wanted a big family. I'm one of three and have step siblings as well and really enjoyed that large family atmosphere. I don't know how I did it, but I talked my husband into having 4 kids. I believe my children are the way there are because of my and my husband's parenting methods, not because there are 4 of them. I've seen only children behave better than mine and only children behave worse. I honestly don't think that has much of an impact on a child's behavior. It's how the parents react and teach that does. Whether we had 1 child or 7… [cont.] Answered by Sam - Sat Oct 13 23:08:55 2007 How do I plan my two nondependent children under head of household? Q. My wife passed away in 2006. Both my children are living with me. They have been working for half the year in 2008. I supply more than half the expenses in 2008. They are both under 24. Under head of household in turbo tax, I can fill in one child as my nondependent child, but there is no option for the second child. Any ideas? Asked by savalot - Sat Mar 14 11:48:36 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. 1. If they are not your dependents, it does not matter whether you have one or two. If neither one is your dependent, then the only thing that matters is whether you have zero or you have more than zero. There is no reason to enter more than one because it does not matter how many you have; it only matters that you have at least one. 2. Based on the information that you provided, I am not sure whether you are correct that they are not your dependents. Check this carefully. Answered by StephenWeinstein - Sat Mar 14 14:55:03 2009 How important is immunization in children?
Q. I`m moving from country to country because my hubby is a businessman, so I have difficulty of tracking my children immunization schedule, besides the services in some country I am in is terrible. They have so many children coming in and out the immunization department. They didn`t even use swab before injection. And sometimes nurses come to your door to give polio to your child. They didn`t ask whether your child had taken or not. Sometimes my children have polio twice in a month. Once at school and one at home. I heard that immunization is not necessary now. It is parents` choice. Should I just refuse to get immunization for my children? or what the most important one my child should have? Asked by Aysha - Tue Jul 18 10:17:43 2006 - - 7 Answers - 1 Comments A. It is one of the most important thing you can do for your child. All children need to be immunized. Breastmilk can protect babies only until 6 months. After that you need the shots. Do not believe all those nutjobs that say immunizations are no longer necessary. All we need is enough of those to bring even smallpox back! If you dont immunize your child could get sick and die from an illness that could be so easily preventable. Just imagine how you would feel then? Its not worth the risk. Dont worry about them getting a couple more shots than usual. Especially it doesnt matter with the oral polio thats why they dont ask. It wont hurt, provided the child hasnt had any allergic reactions previously. What is your country of residence? if… [cont.] Answered by Moonling - Tue Jul 18 23:47:44 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Children" Quotes regarding children.
