A child (plural: children) is a human being between the stages of birth and puberty. The legal definition of "child" generally refers to a minor, otherwise known as a person younger than the age of majority. "Child" may also describe a relationship with a parent or authority figure, or signify group membership in a clan, tribe, or religion; it can also signify being strongly affected by a specific time, place, or circumstance, as in "a child of nature" or "a child of the Sixties." DefinitionsThe United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as "every human being below the age of 16 years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier." Biologically, a child is anyone in the developmental stage of childhood, between infancy and adulthood. Attitudes toward childrenSocial attitudes toward children differ around the world in various cultures. These attitudes have changed over time and in different historical periods. A 1988 study on European attitudes toward the centrality of children found Italy was more child-centric and the Netherlands less child-centric, with other countries (Austria, Great Britain, Ireland, and West Germany) falling in between. It looks highly likely that both parents are going to be sent to prison. What will happen to their 4 children? Asked by ^_^ - Mon Oct 13 16:53:45 2008 - - 46 Answers - 0 Comments A. They will become wards of the state. If they have no family members who will be willing to take the children, they will go into the foster care system. Before mom and dad go, they could make arrangements for them to have a legal guardian to take care of them. Otherwise the above. Answered by Gypsy Red - Mon Oct 13 16:59:09 2008 What are the chances that my children will have autism?
Q. My fiance and I are planning on having children eventually. In his family, three of the five children have autism. My side is clear. What are the chances of us having a child with autism? Asked by plainblueyes - Thu Jun 28 19:46:56 2007 - - 5 Answers - 3 Comments A. Autism has a genetic component. If autism runs in your family, you have an increased risk of having a child with autism. If you already have one child with autism, you have an increased risk of having another child with autism. The genes associated with autism are complex -- and a genetic inclination toward autism may require an environmental "trigger" to cause symptoms Answered by JJ - Thu Jun 28 19:53:28 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Children" Quotes regarding children.
