Youth is the period between childhood and adulthood, described as the period of physical and psychological development from the onset of puberty to maturity and early adulthood. Definitions of the specific age range that constitutes youth vary. An individual's actual maturity may not correspond to their chronological age, as immature individuals exist at all ages. UsageAround the world the terms "youth", "adolescent", "teenager", and "young person" are interchanged, often meaning the same thing, occasionally differentiated. Youth generally refers to a time of life that is neither childhood nor adulthood, but rather somewhere in-between. Youth also identifies a particular mindset of attitude, as in "He is very youthful". The term youth is also related to being young.
Youth is an alternative word to the scientifically-oriented adolescent and the common terms of teen and teenager. Another common title for youth is young person or young people. Population aged under 15 years in 2005From Wikipedia under the

Q. My and 2 other friends need to stay in a youth hostel. Unfortunatly not all of us will be 18 (so the 17 year old is still class as a child). We all want to stay in the same room but I cant see a way that we can. Where we want to stay they dont have family rooms either so that is not an option. Will they let us all stay in the same room? Asked by Live for the moment!!! - Mon Feb 16 16:21:45 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. phone or e-mail them and ask. Most hostels I have been did accept people younger than 18 and would always put 3 girls or 3 guys traveling together in the same room, mixed gender groups only if they had mixed gender dorms, some hostels do have those too. Almost all hostels in the world have someone speaking/writing English well enough to answer your question, and you do not need to give your name or official e-mail as long as your question is asked in a respectful and nice way. I see it as a failure of the system that these people see no way to 1, get enjoyment without crime, 2, have no self belief that they can find and be successful in society 3, find a job/role that they like. but i think the most important factor, especially with the youth is that they have a lack of guidance and direction. With this direction a child is taught right from wrong and will understand the consequences of their actions. Without this, they will do what ever they like just for the fun and the thrill of it. Answered by shane c - Thu Feb 19 05:15:43 2009 How can we help our youth to think critically?
Q. I mean what can we do to help them understand that advertising is not the truth. And how can we help them to see through faulty thinking like bigotry and racism. How can we help them not to be sexist. We need to help our youth see through the lies and ignorance around them so that they will be able to improve society. The answer lies in finding a way to get our people to think logically and analytically. Obviously our education systems have failed in this way, even if not completely. Asked by Ouros - Mon Jun 19 21:16:16 2006 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think we need to include more student debates in our classrooms, where a person must defend the pro or con of an issue --- and not necessarily take the standpoint he or she personally agrees with. When I was in school (I'm over 50) we did this every week with current events, and teams were formed by counting off 1,2 1,2... So you could end up defending something you don't beleive in personally -- but you had to do a good job anyway for the sake of the team (and your grade!) I remember once having to defend Hitler in a debate about WWII -- not my cup of tea as a Jew, but it made me struggle to see things from the other side of a war. (A modern equivalent would be to take the side of the Iraqi insurgency -- the point being, that both… [cont.] Answered by not_mn_nice - Mon Jun 19 21:30:57 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Youth" Popular use of the word Youth refers to a person who is neither an adult nor a child, but somewhere in between, scientifically referred to as an adolescent and, in most English speaking countries, commonly referred to as a teen or teenager.
