How is counseling done as part of a drug rehab program?
Q. I am a senior student and is dreaming of becoming a counselor someday. I've heard from our teacher that counseling is an essential part of drug rehabilitation programs. I want to know more about it to become a good counselor someday. I will help the victims of illegal drugs by giving them pieces of advice.

A. Basically, there are two types of counseling applied to those who are undergoing drug abuse treatment. These are the individual and the group counseling. Each counseling program is unique from the other; it is pattern after the needs of the patient. The forms and approaches also vary because every patient is different from the other. What Is Counseling For Social Anxiety Disorder Usually Like?
Q. What do you do in counseling? I'm a fifteen-year-old girl with SAD and problems with the way I see my physical appearance. I'm starting this youth counseling thing in August or September, so I'm wondering what I should maybe expect. The counselor will be female. Not sure how old. A. I've never exactly been to counseling specifically targeted for SAD, but when I started going to my whack therapist that's the first thing I told him I had. I think all therapists are essentially the 'same' though. She'll probably ask you questions like how you feel when you're outside of your house, what types of things trigger your anxiety, etc. Just tell her. And be honest. Good luck.

Why do parents refuse counseling for their teenagers if when their teachers recommend it?
Q. The teachers sees that the students are having stress in school that is keeping them from getting good grades. They call the teenager's parents to school to recommend counseling to the teenagers and the parents refuse. The parents feel that their teens don't need counseling and the parents don't find a problem wrong with them and are only lazy to do their homework. The parents feel that they can work their teen's problem with their teens at home and don't need a counselor to do their work. It turns out that the parents weren't trying to help their teens and the teens are still failing. The parents are worried but still refuse counseling. Why are parents that way? A. maybe the parents are hiding something and they think that if their teen goes to counseling the teen will spill the beans? there were many times that I wanted to talk to someone about the way my mom treated me. my parents would never let me. but the first year that I was allowed to go to camp I got many of those issues worked out.
