What is critical thinking according to you?
Q. I consider 'Reasoning and Reflected thinking" as critical thinking. I am open to different interpretations of these words by others. So put your viewes on what exactly is critical thinking according to you.

A. It is an oxymoron to ask for someone's opinion of something that is not a matter of opinion, in my opinion. Critical thinking is a well defined term. It is not subject to the mis-interpretation of people who do not know exactly what it means, again, in my opinion. Critical thinking, as I understand it, and also believe to be accurate, is examining presented information for both internal and external consistency with what is known. It is the spotting of mis-information in that way.

How to improve my SAT critical reading and math?
Q. I was a little disappointed with my critical reading and math scores. I have taken the SAT twice, and I improved on the writing by 60 points which I am happy about, but most colleges don't care about the writing section. My critical reading only went up 10 points, and my math section decreased by 10 points. I really need to increase my critical reading and math section by at least 50 points in each section. Any suggestions to help me out?

A. Work on your vocabulary for the reading part. I bought the Kaplan CD for the SAT and it helped a lot with the vocabulary part and the math. Math is a lot harder to get right away if you are not good at it.. Just use your textbook and work on problems you are not good at every night. They take your highest score of all the times you take the SAT so don't worry about doing worse. Also, answer questions if you have narrowed it down to 2 answers. You want to make sure you get points. If you have no idea whatsoever, then do not answer it at all.
