Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. Etymologically, the word education is derived from educare (Latin) "bring up", which is related to educere "bring out", "bring forth what is within", "bring out potential" and ducere, "to lead". Teachers in educational institutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science and history. This process is sometimes called schooling when referring to the education of teaching only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher learning. There is also education in fields for those who want specific vocational skills, such as those required to be a pilot. In addition there is an array of education possible at the informal level, such as in museums and libraries, with the Internet and in life experience. Many non-traditional education options are now available and continue to evolve. A right to education has been created and recognized by some jurisdictions: since 1952, Article 2 of the first Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights obliges all signatory parties to guarantee the right to education. At world level, the United Nations' International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966 guarantees this right under its Article 13. From Wikipedia under the

In another way, what kind of education would you need to be a clinical doctor like when you get a checkup or when your sick with the flu. Asked by The Phantom - Sat Nov 21 14:13:31 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. You would need to go through medical school like any other doctor, which takes anywhere from 12-16 years depending on your specialty. After you have your license to practice medicine, your best bet would be to check into working with an organization such as the Peace Corps or Doctors Without Borders. Best of luck to you. Q. I have to write a little essay on the differences of education in North America and South America during the 17th and 18th centuries. Would anyone have any information on the education system in South America? Asked by Anna - Mon Dec 7 01:46:44 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. ~Would you be referring to Dutch colonies in South America? Or French? Or Spanish? Or Portuguese? The Danish Colonies of the West Indies? And are you comparing them to the French colonies of North America, or the Dutch colonies or the English ones, or perhaps the Spanish, Swedish, Finn, Russian or Scottish? If the English, do you refer to those in New England or in the Mid Atlantic or in the South? The question is so overbroad as to be meaningless and idiotic. If you teacher didn't specify any better than you did, tell him/her for me that she/he is a moron. Or are you simply supposed to assume that such generalities can actually be discussed cogently and with some educational purpose? If so, the teacher is not only a moron, but… [cont.] Answered by Oscar Himpflewitz - Mon Dec 7 02:44:49 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "education" EducationFrom Wikiquote Jump to: navigation, search This theme article needs cleanup.
