How can I stain my entertainment center a different stain color?
Q. The solid wood entertainment center had been stained a light tan, I would like it to be a dark walnut color. Should I just sand it then stain?

A. It's going to be alot of work. You wont be able to go lighter, lust darker as the stain has already penetrated the pores of the wood and you'll never get all of the old stain completely out. Start by using some paint stripper. Once the old finish comes loose, use steel wool and a scraper to get it all off. You may need to apply the paint stripper more than once. Then sand down with 220 grit sandpaper. You don't need to go crazy but make sure it;s smooth. Then re-stain and apply polyurethane or lacquer to finish.

What schooling is needed for the entertainment buisness?
Q. I'm 18 and trying to figure out what I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life.I would love to be in the entertainment buisness,specifically doing event planning like hiedi on the hills.I find that really interesting.What do I need to study?p.s..i'm can't do any internships because I have a daughter to take care of.

A. It usually is most efficient to learn event planning in an informal apprenticeship. It appears that you do not have time to learn this field at this point in your life.

How can I break into the entertainment industry?
Q. I've been wanting to do work in the entertainment industry such as fashion modeling/acting/tv commercials ever since I was young. I've always wanted to be on tv or perform. I have very little experience but am willing to take it serious. I am 19 years old, 5'1 and in college. What are some steps or tips to help me start out? How do I set up a portfolio and who do I send them to? Do I have to live in a big city to be discovered? I would love if people with experience answer most of the questions!

A. ok fashion modeling is totally out- you are 8 full inches too short, and you would not be able to work in ANY division of modeling. to model clothing you must be 5'9 or TALLER. theres a reason for it- tall, thin bodies make clothing look its best; if you are that short, they would have to tailor the sample sizes to your short legs, which is not gonna happen. an agency wouldnt even consider a girl that short. also, modeling has NOTHING to do with acting. so, in short, dont bother paying for a portfolio; you just dont have the body to model- thats the story for most women. not only that but youd have to have very specific measurements and very long legs, which obviously at 5'1 you cant have. ive been with 3 agencies in my career and not one… [cont.]
